BERTANI Valpolicella Valpantena AMARONE Villa Arvedi DOC ITALY 2012- 75cl

  • Each:
    HK$628

QTY:

Villa Arvedi Amarone is produced in the hills of Valpantena, the only “cru” denomination in the whole Valpolicella area. Villa Arvedi is another example of Bertani’s traditional dedication to producing Amarone, with this modern and well balanced Amarone. New fermentation
techniques and traditional drying techniques give this wine an elegant balance of exuberant fruity notes.
It has a rich blackberry flavour, a minty scent, a sweet cherry taste and the spicy hints that are typical of this valley. This is an Amarone of outstanding elegance andauthenticity. The ageing process in small and medium sized oak casks means that as it matures it acquires immediate balance. Since Amarone is a wine that is rich in substance, it needs to accompany rich foods, mature cheese and full-flavoured meats, and is well suited to long ageing.

Grape varieties:
Rondinella and Corvina Veronese.
The vines are cultivated using the “spalliera” method. The pruning is making using “Guyot “ method with 5.000 bases/ha.

Area of production:
Hills of Valpantena valley, northern of Verona, in Quinto, Grezzana and Santa Maria in Stelle area. In the east side the soil is of marl-calcareous composition and in the west side argillaceous calcareous, rich in iron.

Vinification:
The manual harvest takes place in the half of September. A selection of the best, perfectly
ripe and healthy bunches is then transported to the loft-extremely airy rooms situated in Grezzana cellar and laid out in the monolayer plastic boxes for the drying. After about 120 days withering, the grapes reach a sugar content of about 24/25° Babo and a
concentration and development of new aromas. At the half of January the grapes are picked from the bunches, pressed and vinified with an initial very low temperature of 4/5°C which reaches in the final stage a temperature of 22°C.

Ageing:
A part of it ages in Slavonian oak casks of 25 hl capacity and a little part in barriques for about 30 months. Follows an aging period of at least 6 months in bottle.

Organoleptic characteristics:
