Bodega Monteviejo winery is situated at the foot of the Andes mountains in the heart of the Uco Valley. One of the most important wine regions in Argentina, it is 120kms from Mendoza. The property spans 130 hectares with altitudes between 1000 and 1200 meters above sea level.
Catherine Péré-Vergé, the owner, started this ambitious project in 2001 building a modern and efficient cellar, based only on gravity for the vinification process and using French barriques for the ageing of most wines. Under consultancy of famous oenologist Michel Rollande, Marcelo Pelleriti has become one of the great references of winemaking in Argentina and on an international level.
For the last 14 years he has directed the harvests in Bordeaux at Chateau La Violette and Chateau Le Gay, (both also properties of Catherine Peré-Vergé like Monteviejo). This experience made him the first Argentine winemaker to obtain a 100 point rating from Robert Parker.
Petite Fleur Malbec 2017 Selected grapes from vineyards around the cellar, after vinification the wine ages 12 months in French barriques and further few months in bottle before release. Quite complex and elegant with notes of dark fruits and lot of spices. It’s full bodied, well balanced and rich with long aging potential.
